Snake River Flight Training is a Part 61 flight school located in the Treasure Valley. The school specializes in teaching from Private Pilot to Instrument Instructor levels, including Tailwheel and High Performance endorsements. They emphasize old school flying techniques, paper chart navigation, and fundamental aerodynamics. All aircraft are powered by LyCon engines (except the Stinson with Franklin engine).

Training

Private Pilot

Private pilot certificate program from zero experience through checkride, including ground school and flight training.

Instrument Rating

IFR training covering precision and non-precision approaches, holds, cross-country flight planning, and partial-panel work.

Commercial Pilot

Commercial certificate training including complex and high-performance aircraft time, maneuvers, and cross-country requirements.

Multi-Engine Rating

Multi-engine add-on rating with training in engine-out procedures, Vmc demonstrations, and systems management.

CFI

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) training covering fundamentals of instruction, lesson planning, and flight teaching techniques for single-engine aircraft.

CFII

Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) rating preparation for teaching instrument students, including advanced IFR procedures and instructional techniques.

Flight Review

Biennial flight review including a ground session on regulations and aeronautical knowledge plus a flight portion with maneuvers.

IPC

Instrument proficiency check to regain IFR currency, covering approaches, holds, intercepting and tracking courses.

Endorsements

Tailwheel

Conventional gear endorsement covering ground handling, crosswind technique, and three-point and wheel landings.

High Performance

Ground and flight training endorsement for aircraft with engines producing more than 200 horsepower.

Aircraft Rental

Rent aircraft for solo flights after completing a checkout with one of our instructors. Wet and dry rates available.
