High Tide Aviation began in 2013 as High Tide Helicopters with just one Robinson R22. Quickly expanding to include airplanes, the school rebranded and now operates 12 aircraft at locations in Southport, NC, and St Simons Island, GA. As the top flight school in Southeastern North Carolina and Southeastern Georgia, High Tide offers training for commercial licenses and instrument ratings, using ASA publications and maintaining a pilot shop.

Training

Ground School

FAA knowledge test preparation covering aerodynamics, weather, navigation, regulations, and aircraft systems.

Private Pilot

Private pilot certificate program from zero experience through checkride, including ground school and flight training.

Instrument Rating

IFR training covering precision and non-precision approaches, holds, cross-country flight planning, and partial-panel work.

Commercial Pilot

Commercial certificate training including complex and high-performance aircraft time, maneuvers, and cross-country requirements.

CFI

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) training covering fundamentals of instruction, lesson planning, and flight teaching techniques for single-engine aircraft.

Multi-Engine Rating

Multi-engine add-on rating with training in engine-out procedures, Vmc demonstrations, and systems management.

Helicopter Training

Rotorcraft flight training from private through commercial certificates, including hover work, autorotations, and confined-area operations.
