The Community College of Baltimore County runs one of the largest aviation technology programs in the Mid-Atlantic, based at the Catonsville campus and placing graduates in aviation careers since 1974. Associate degrees cover professional pilot tracks in airplane, helicopter, and unmanned aircraft systems, plus air traffic control, aircraft dispatch, and flight operations management. The airplane pilot degree includes commercial and flight instructor training and qualifies for the R-ATP.

Training

Aviation Degree Program

Associate or bachelor's degree in aviation with integrated flight training, academics, and airline career preparation.

Private Pilot

Private pilot certificate program from zero experience through checkride, including ground school and flight training.

Instrument Rating

IFR training covering precision and non-precision approaches, holds, cross-country flight planning, and partial-panel work.

Commercial Pilot

Commercial certificate training including complex and high-performance aircraft time, maneuvers, and cross-country requirements.

Multi-Engine Rating

Multi-engine add-on rating with training in engine-out procedures, Vmc demonstrations, and systems management.

CFI

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) training covering fundamentals of instruction, lesson planning, and flight teaching techniques for single-engine aircraft.

Helicopter Training

Rotorcraft flight training from private through commercial certificates, including hover work, autorotations, and confined-area operations.

Drone Training

Part 107 remote pilot certification training for commercial drone operations, including airspace, regulations, and flight planning.

Ground School

FAA knowledge test preparation covering aerodynamics, weather, navigation, regulations, and aircraft systems.
