CHINA PEAK OBSERVATORY
KLONDYKE, AZ
Klondyke, Arizona is home to China Peak Observatory, a privately owned, non-towered airport identified as AZ45. The field operates four runways: 01/19 at 4,500 by 150 feet of turf, 04/22 at 3,100 by 125 feet of turf, 15/33 at 1,950 by 110 feet of turf, and one additional runway.
Operations are visual flight rules only because no instrument approach procedures are published. Being non-towered with no published frequencies, pilots keep their own separation under see-and-avoid procedures. There is no fuel service on record. As a private-use facility, transient traffic is not permitted without prior permission.
The field sits at 4,800 feet above mean sea level. At this elevation, density altitude is a routine consideration during warm weather.
